Are you a therapist looking for Supervision?
In this arena, where the personal and the professional inform each other so intimately and invisibly, it is more important than ever to be open to examining our movements with experienced eyes. Every client who walks through the door has an expectation that might not always be in proportion to our knowledge and experience. Therapy is a wonderful but invisible and intangible process. While that may be, there are more reliable pathways than others in the forest. And it behooves us, as professionals, in our accountability to our clients, to keep exploring and learning and growing. In my experience, I have found that the knowledge of theory holds me steady and brightens my clarity in the therapy room, where my personal can encroach or the process can get “stuck”. We live at a time where we are blessed ( or burdened) with an abundance of theories and models and ‘strategies’. “Eclectic” has come to be a comfortable word that sometimes (euphemistically) holds our ambiguity and uncertainty. I think about “mindful eclecticism”. One is eclectic, but with definition.
In the words of David Schnarch, a favourite of mine -
“The patient’s report is always accurate. It is the therapist’s job to figure out what it is accurate about.”
Any requests for supervision will be accepted with delight.
A session will be 90 minutes long and 220$.
