Asking for help is an important life skill.

Deciding to speak to a stranger about the things that worry us can feel challenging and intrusive. This is a very normal feeling and you are not alone. It is helpful to understand that the therapist is a guide and consultant to a collaborative process, in which you are always in the driver’s seat. There is also no problem that is too small or too silly, if it is an issue that is of concern to you in your life.

As a client, you can:

  • Request an initial short phone consult, if that would be helpful for a short introduction.

  • Attend one session to explore the process, without any obligation to continue.

  • Ask questions about anything that needs making more sense of. There is no question that is too small or too silly.
(Sessions are offered both in-person and online)

  • Individual Therapy

The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and identify the concerns bringing you to therapy. Therapy involves not just knowing each other but also getting acquainted with the process of therapy. I like to demystify the process and think about it as a different way of talking. By the end of the first session, I will give you a definition of your presenting issue from a clinical perspective and a glimpse of the direction we shall take.

Sessions are 90 minutes long and 220$ each.

  • Family Therapy

Family therapy can happen with family members in the room or not. Often, families are invited into therapy by one person’s symptoms – an eating disorder, an addiction, depression, OCD. I have learnt, over the years, that while it is convenient to treat just the one person with the troublesome symptom (The Identified Patient) it is far more effective that everybody in the family system moves forward with a mutual understanding of change.

Sessions are 90 minutes long and 220$ each.

  • Group Therapy

Currently, I offer Parent and Client groups to support Eating Disorder Recovery. Groups are offered online through Silver Linings Foundation, owing to COVID safety guidelines. I am hopeful that we will start offering groups both in person and online shortly.
